R.C.I.A.  - Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults

The R.C.I.A. is a process by which those of catechetical age or older may wish to explore their interest in the Catholic Faith.  Any unbaptized person, or anyone baptized in another Christian tradition who is interested in learning about and experiencing the Catholic Faith is a prospective candidate for the R.C.I.A.  Also, Catholics who have been baptized but have not completed their initiation process may participate.  There is never any obligation to continue unless the candidate wishes, and is ready to do so.

The R.C.I.A. process was originally developed in the early century of the Church's life and has been restored by the Second Vatican Council.  R.C.I.A. includes four stages: Inquiry, Catechumenate/Candidacy, Purification & Enlightenment, and Mystagogy.  In OLPH Parish, the R.C.I.A. groups meets regularly on Tuesday evenings at 7:15PM.  Anyone interested in joining or getting more information is invited to contact Father Bob.  Please pass the word to those who might be interested in this process.
